A series of artworks developed from postgraduate research into bioluminescence, the process by which living things have the ability to produce light. This phenomena which is particularly present in deep sea, stimulated initial works relating to the sense of unknown and unexplored space. Investigation into the application of bioluminescence in modern science led to further works exploring ideas about biological mutation and genetic engineering.
