FLUORESCENT
Fluorescent art installation created with local schools as part of Safle public art residency

As part of a public art residency at Ruthin Craft Centre, Jessica Lloyd-Jones carried out workshops with local schools, investigating colour, pattern and light. Students worked with Jessica, developing their own artworks using fluorescent materials that brilliantly glow in the dark when viewed under ultraviolet light. They created large 2Dimensional designs exploring the repetition of geometic shapes and pattern to create optical effects inspired the work of contemporary artists such as Bridget Riley, Jim Lambie and Dan Flavin. The individual works were then combined to produce a large scale installation for public exhibition in one of the Centre's studio spaces.
